Genre storytelling with purpose.
Karen has worked full-time in film and television since 2000. She began as a producer and entertainment lawyer, contributed to the development of British Columbia’s film tax-credit framework and later worked with U.S. studio clients in film finance.
Her directing work includes the feature films Stained, Evangeline, The Curse of Willow Song, Bring It On: Cheer or Die and Armageddon Road. She has also directed short horror films, music videos, the TELUS web series Mythos and two seasons of the true crime series Very Bad Men.
The Curse of Willow Song won Best British Columbia Feature Film, and Karen received a Best Director award at the 2021 Leo Awards. Her screenwriting credits also include work for the series Van Helsing and Ghost Wars.
